My latest refuge for you.
These are anxious and uncertain times unparalleled in modern history.
However, I've found refuge in creating simple ambient soundscapes. In my studio, I listen to these works and felt an immediate release of tension in my chest. Taking them with me to bed has helped ease me to rest. I'm not a fan of sound therapy and much of the music I've heard on meditation apps...But I've always admired the giants of ambient music--Brian Eno, Roger Eno, and Harold Budd--and their ability to create simple spacious sounds that heal. Indeed, that inner feeling is what first drew me to making ambient music nearly 20 years ago.
I hope this music brings you some peace and relaxation as well. I recommend listening at a low volume either lying down or in a very comfortable chair or the like. Each part of any refuge can be listened independently--definitely listen at a lower volume with headphones or earbuds. I hope this music may help you find a bit of respite from the anxieties of our current age.
Warmly,
Ben
